Each weekday Sydney Trains provides around one million customer journeys. The Assets Standards Authority (ASA) is growing the capability of engineering companies working on the NSW rail network to ensure safety is never compromised.
The ASA is an independent body established within Transport NSW. The ASA’s Authorised Engineering Organisations (AEO) certification process is an important avenue for endorsing the capability and competency of engineering service providers. In March 2017, Locaters Pty Ltd gained AEO status for surveying for NSW rail network projects.
AEOs are certified to provide engineering services within a defined scope that corresponds with the stages of the asset life cycle: design, build, commission, maintain, operate and decommission.
To achieve certification, Locaters had to present documented evidence of its systems, tools, capability and capacity to effectively deliver engineering services within the designated scope.
