Project: Mulgoa Road Rail Bridge Upgrade

Fulfilling the role of both Utility Survey Manager and Locater/Surveyor, Locaters P/L were engaged to provide site locating, utility identification, surveying, permit sign offs, utilities model rationalisation/data management and awareness training to the delivery construction team.
Working as a key stone to the survey and engineering teams, Locaters P/L provided confidence in the engineering and design decision making process resulting in more efficient cost effective operations of the project.
Directly reporting to project senior managers and working with Senior Project Engineers and Engineers alike, our responsibilities included resource planning, utilities model rationalisation and data management, Permits to Dig (PTD) awareness training, scoping, unidentified reporting, SME reporting and compliance auditing.
Interfacing with both the survey and utilities teams, we enabled confidence in the engineering and design decision making process resulting in more efficient cost effective operations of the project.
Project issues:
- Local road adjustments and arterial road works
- Project delivery timelines and construction sequencing
- High-risk utility networks including Sewer Rising Mains, high pressure gas, optic fibre, transmission electricity
- Congestion of underground networks within key construction areas
- Community sensitivity around high density residential areas
- Changing utility model with asbuilt and updated existing utility data
- Unidentified utilities management including drill and tap database management
